The choice of sports throughout the island for both participants and spectators is wide and varied:
Golf: there are several courses on the island including Sandy Lane Hotel, an 18-hole course with a further nine being built. The Royal Westmoreland Golf & Country Club has a spectacular 27-hole golf course while the Barbados Golf Club has an 18-hole championship course which was opened in September 2000. Golf for Treasure Beach guests can be arranged at nearby Sandy Lane.
Cricket: the national sport which is played at all levels throughout the island. Top regional matches are played from January to March. Test Matches are much more than a sporting event; they are a massive Caribbean occasion and provide great atmosphere and fun.
Racing: races are held at Garrison Savannah racecourse on alternate Saturdays from January to March and May to October. The highlight of the Barbados racing calendar is the Cockspur Gold Cup held in March of each year.
Water Sports : Water Sports are everywhere in Barbados, and usually available in your hotel. They include snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, fishing and deep sea fishing.
